Account Deletion
CareCircle-App LLC • CareCircle application
Requesting deletion
You can ask us to delete your CareCircle account and its associated data. This page explains how to make that request, what we delete, and what we may have to keep.
1. How to request deletion
In the app
Sign in, then go to Settings → Account → Delete your account. You can also use the email request below — it is a complete and supported route, not a fallback.
By email
Email carecircle@carecircle-app.com from the email address registered to the account, with the subject line:
CareCircle Account Deletion Request
2. Verification
We verify identity before acting on a deletion request, and where a request affects a Circle or a care recipient, we also verify that the requester has authority over it. This protects the other people whose care information may be involved.
You may be asked to resolve Circle ownership or transfer responsibilities to another member before your access is removed, so that a shared Circle is not left without an owner.
3. What is deleted when a request completes
After verification, and once the closure completes, we delete:
- Login access
- Authentication credentials
- Active sessions
- Device registrations
- Push-notification subscriptions
- Active location and geofence access
- Personal information not covered by a valid retention requirement
4. What may be retained
Some information may be kept after closure, for the reasons and periods below:
- Shared care history — up to three years. Qualifying medication, vitals, task, ADL, safety-event and audit history that forms part of a shared care record. This three-year period is CareCircle's own company retention policy — it is not a HIPAA requirement and is not imposed on us by law.
- Provider-controlled records. Where a healthcare provider controls records under an applicable agreement, business associate agreement, or law, that agreement and the law govern them.
- Research or legal holds. Retained until the hold is properly released.
- Required compliance documentation — six years, when applicable. Where HIPAA documentation requirements apply to us.
- Backups. Deleted information can persist in routine system backups for a period after deletion from our active systems, until those backups age out on our provider's normal cycle. Backups are not used to restore a deleted account.
5. How retained data is treated
- It is access-restricted.
- It is not used for advertising.
- It is not used for unrelated profiling or analytics.
- It is destroyed when the applicable retention period expires, unless a lawful hold applies.
6. Shared Circles
CareCircle is built for families and care teams, so some records are shared. Deleting one member's account does not automatically delete records that are legitimately shared with, or controlled by, other members of the same Circle. Those records remain available to the people who still rely on them.
7. Deleting only part of your data
You do not have to close your account to remove specific information. If you want a particular record removed — a medication, a vitals entry, a document, a photo, an appointment, or similar — send the same email address above a request describing what you want removed. The same verification applies.
