Vitals — Setup & FAQ
Quick charting for BP/HR, Temp, SpO₂, Glucose, RR, Pain. Private to your Circle. No ads, no resale of data.
How it works (simple)
- Pick the resident/patient at the top of Vitals (auto-binds if opened from MAR).
- Choose the day (Today / Prev / Next).
- Tap a card (BP/HR, Temp, SpO₂, Glucose, RR, Pain) and enter the reading. Mark “Refused” when applicable.
- Save. The newest entry appears in “Records”. Abnormal values show red, normal green, refused purple.
- Use “Records → Show 24 hours / 6 months” for quick review.
Where do readings come from?
- Manual entry: type readings from your devices into the modal.
- Devices: home BP cuffs, pulse oximeters, thermometers, glucometers, or bedside monitors (enter values manually today).
- MAR link: when opened from MAR, “patient” is preselected for faster charting.
What we record / What we never collect
What we record
- Reading values (e.g., 120/80 mmHg, 98% SpO₂, 37.0 °C, 110 mg/dL).
- Units/methods if provided (°C/°F, posture, O₂ source, site, notes).
- Refused flag (when you mark it).
- Timestamp and patient/resident tag.
What we never collect
- No message contents or passwords.
- No keystroke, microphone, or camera recordings.
- No advertising trackers; no data resale.
- No device pairing/BIOS info—values are entered by you.
Care team retains control. Delete entries as required by your retention policy.
Privacy & safety tips
- Be transparent: tell residents and families how Vitals is used (safety & care).
- Collect the minimum: only record values needed for care and audits.
- Confirm time zone: the toolbar shows your current TZ; adjust if your site differs.
- Document refusals: use the “Refused” checkbox so it’s clearly visible in purple.
- Follow policy: export/delete per facility and state rules as needed.
Troubleshooting
- Can’t save? Make sure the value field isn’t blank and uses numbers (e.g., 98 for SpO₂).
- Wrong day? Check the date controls (Today / Prev / Next) in the toolbar.
- Colors look off? Ranges use common adult references; extreme out-of-range shows bold red.
- Need to add a note? Use the I/O area or add a Pain “after meds” note for quick context.
- Patient not selected? If opened from MAR it binds automatically; otherwise pick the resident at the top.
